ВООЗ: Штам “омікрон” більш заразний, але хвороба протікає легше

Штам коронавірусу “омікрон “поширюється швидше, ніж нині домінуючий у світі штам”дельта”. Про це повідомляє AFP з посиланням на попередні дані Всесвітньої організації охорони здоров’я.

За даними ВООЗ, новий штам викликає зниження ефективності вакцини проти інфікування і передачі. На сьогоднішній день “омікрон” викликав “легкі ” захворювання або безсимптомні випадки, але ВООЗ заявила, що даних недостатньо, щоб встановити ступінь серйозності.

Тим часом станом на 9 грудня випадки зараження “омікроном” зафіксовані в 63 країнах, включаючи Росію. У ПАР поширення “омікрона” вже призвело до нової хвилі епідемії, число заражених буквально за кілька тижнів зросло в кілька разів. Як і раніше не підтверджено жодної смерті пацієнта з “омікроном”.
