Extraordinary footage of men in uniform packed into a tiny cage has gone viral on the internet after being filmed at an army camp somewhere in the Donbass Region in Eastern Ukraine. The men have to sit on the floor of the metal cage, which is in the open air, as it is not tall enough for them to stand properly. The video, which was taken from a dash-cam, has already been watched over 300,000 times. As it plays an unidentified man, believed to be another soldier says: " This is a fucking embarassement! " They disgraced men are only released when they have sobered up and then have to go on a course before being handed back their weapons. They are questioned about their discipline and run the risk of being thrown out of the army and their poor behaviour being reported back home to wives and relatives. War reporter Andrei Tsaplienki said:"In some army units alcoholism has come to a level of an epidemic. So radical measures were needed. To some of them if they keep breaking discipline, the army would be ready to inform their wives about it." Ukrainian top brass are worried about soldiers being on duty while under the influence of alcohol and recently 150 litres of vodka was seized from barracks. Some of it was homemade having come from illegal stills in Peski village which is one of the hot spots in the conflict with Russia. An army source said:"Drinking in the army is a big problem, even greater now there is a ceasefire. There is nothing for the men to do so they drink vodka. They all used to drink in civilian life and they are just carrying the habit on but even more because they are bored." (ends)
